If you plan to stay in one of our B&B in Rome in Nomentana area, choose in which zone to stay. No doubt the Porta Pia is the closest to the center. From here, one of old doors that served as access to ancient Rome, entered on September 20, 1870 the Italian soldiers, who with the so-called "Sacco di Roma" invaded the city and declared the unification of the Kingdom of Italy and the end of the state Papal State and of its temporal power. Along the way Nomentana are another big public park, Villa Torlonia, which for years was the residence of Benito Mussolini. After  the war the house was abandoned and had a period of decline, but in 1978, it was purchased by the City of Rome and turned into a public park. Continuing, we find Corso Trieste, inserted in the elegant residential Coppedè area, built in 1919-26 by Gino Coppedè. Corso Trieste, connecting the Nomentana to Square Annibaliano, continues to connect with what is called the African quarter, because of the names of the streets (the famous Viale Libia, Viale Eritrea, Viale Somalia, Ethiopia Avenue) that recall the Italian colonial age.
