The Nomentana area originates at Porta Pia, the famous door realized by Michelangelo (in place of the Nomentana door, not far from there), and from which entered the Italian army, led by the “bersaglieri”, in the famous "Sacco di Roma" with which put an end to the Papal State and began the unification of Italy.

Staying in one of our accommodations in Rome , in self catering apartments in the area Nomentana, you live in that area in the postwar years and the economic boom became famous for the presence of the famous disco Piper, where  groups such as Beatles and Pink Floyd played. The four British singers are remembered on this occasion for the famous bath in Fontana delle Rane in Piazza Mincio. But the neighborhood also became famous to have been during the years of lead place of fight between political factions and also for being the place where the famous singer Rino Gaetano was killed in a car accident June 2, 1981, a short distance from Villa Torlonia.

This villa is a great green park. In the villa, former residence of Benito Mussolini, you will find many interesting buildings, first of all the little house of owls (former residence of the Prince Torlonia), but also the main casino (where it housed the noble guests), the Casino dei Principi ( connected to the main building by a tunnel), False ruins (according to the fashion of the 700) and the Temple of Saturn.

Staying in apartments in Nomentana area also means move easily to the rest of the city thanks to the many bus and city train FR1 with  its stop "Nomentana", by which you will easily reach other areas of the historical center of Rome.
