Sleeping in B&B in Rome close to the park of Villa Celimontana means to stay in a very central area. This park, first called Villa Mattei, as owned by the Mattei family until 1802, dates back to the sixteenth century.

It is located on the top of the hill west of the Celio, not far from the Fountain of Carrycot.

The villa covers an area of Flavian and Trajan age, with many exhibits of various ages and origins (some were transferred to the Vatican Museums, and some fountains made by Bernini went destroyed).

Among the most important findings include the Egyptian obelisk of Ramses II, better known as "skewer", from the spoliation of the Temple of the Sun at Heliopolis, for a time he was at the base of the steps of Ara Coeli.

Two legends circulating around this obelisk, the first states that during the work shift of the base fell on the arms of a worker, and to free him they had to amputate his arms that still lie beneath the basement (which has not been moved since then); according to another legend in the ball on top of the obelisk there would be the ashes of Augustus.
