Choosing accommodations in B&B close to the Imperial Forums means to stay in the hearth of Rome. They consist of a series of monumental squares, over a century and a half (between 46 BC and 113 AD) in the heart of the city of Rome, by the Emperors.

It’s not part of them the Roman Forum, which is the old Republican square, whose origin  goes back to director (sixth century BC) and had been for centuries the political, religious and economic center of the city.

The imperial forums go from the Forum of Caesar 46 BC (A square with arcades on the long sides and the center of the bottom side of the temple dedicated to Venus Genetrix, from where Julius Caesar claimed to descend through Iulo, the progenitor of the "gens" Julia, son of Aeneas, who was son of the goddess), to that of Augustus of 2 BC (Celebrating the new golden age).

They continue with the so-called Temple of Peace , built in 76 AD under Vespasian; Domitian decided to unify the previous complex and in the  irregular place  left free between the Temple of Peace and the Forum of Caesar and Augustus, had built another square, completed in 98 AD under his successor Nerva (that’s why it is called the Forum of Nerva); between the Capitol and the Quirinal, Trajan built in 113 AD the court that bears his name, one of the largest monuments of ancient Rome.
After the abandonment and decay medieval, early redevelopment works are dated around 1540 - 70, while the first scientific operation occurred during the French administration in 1812 - 14.

During Fascism was built the so-called Empire Street (Via dell’Impero) , a road that bisects the Forum connects Piazza Venezia and the Colosseum, then changed name in Via dei Fori Imperiali. Suggestive and major tourist attraction, however, is the subject of inevitable controversy in the eighties.

Via dei Fori Imperiali hosts the annual military parade for Republic Day on June 2, and is the area of departure and arrival of the Rome Marathon, which takes place during the period of March.
